Combined ship- and cycle tour at the Treene

You come to Friedrichstadt, the small town at the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein between the rivers Treene and Eider, the "Dutchman small town" with the over 380-year history. Of course we hope that you have "brought" enough time and also can enjoy a canal tour, a guided  city tour or a museum visit after the arrival additionally to refreshment. It is then time to do a combined bicycle- and ship journey on the Treene. After you have reached our quay at the Treene, your bicycle is "packed" safe on our ship and you take a seat in the salon or on the sundeck of the ship. According to your wishes your physical well-being is provided while you are gliding by the landscape to Schwabstedt. Then you can visit this village, formerly a diocesan town, or enjoy sunbathing at the Treene. You continue with the bicycle from there.

Combined ship- and cycle tour at the Eider

The ship tour starts from Friedrichstadt. After you have reached our quay at the Eider-mill, your bicycle is "packed" safe on our ship and you take a seat in the salon or on the sundeck of the ship. According to your wishes your physical well-being is provided while you are gliding by the landscape to Bargen. We leave Friedrichstadt at the old Eider-mill and soon pass the sluice and the Friedrichstädter bascule bridge. We then report for a further sluice. After half an hour we pass the sluice Nordfeld, also called "gate of the east journey". The water-level expels a difference of 20 centimetres up to half meter out here. We reach from the underside of the Eider into the upper side of the Eider from here. Fishing nets can be seen on the shore. Eel is caught primarily here but braces and pike-perches aren't rareness in the Eider either. You can watch grey herons and seagulls and other animals while we are providing your delicious dinner. After we have passed the Horster camping ground, it is no longer far to the quay in Süderstapel. After further two hours we then have reached Bargen. On board we offer you card material, with the help of it you can on interesting routes and with your own bicycle  explore the landscape.

The cycle tour proceeds inside the Eider-Treene-Sorge region. You start from the southern side of the Bargener ferry and cycle along Delve (country stone church 13th , century, old trees, camping ground, sailing- and motorboats harbour) to Bergewöhrden. One reaches Östermoor on a quiet road, passing the camping ground. From here you come directly to Hennstedt (central village, church 12th/13th century, baroque pulpit from 1650). The scenic attraction consists in the contrast between hilly Greets and far Eider lowland with bogs and march pastures. The way through the western bog over the villages Fedderingen and Kleve (from Kleveberg beautiful view) leads to the sluice Nordfeld (completion 1936, granted the high water protection above Nordfeld). You take the sluice transition (foot- and bicycle path) cycle on to drag (north German farmhouse, crossways split Guest houses). Along Seth (approx. 50 thatched houses, 11 classified as a historical monument) one cycle to the starting point Friedrichstadt.
